Education

Our educational programs are based on the Early Years Learning Framework and the five learning outcomes within this framework:
- Children have a strong sense of identity
- Children are connected with and contribute to their world
- Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
- Children are confident and involved learners
- Children are effective communicators
Each age group is observed and programmed for based on each child’s individual interests and development stage.
Play Based Learning

At Tiny Tots, our main focus is on ‘play based learning’ which means children learning through play. We strongly believe in this form of learning as, basically, it makes sense – all children have different ways of learning and it essentially comes down to what interests them. If children do not enjoy what they are doing, they will become disinterested and ultimately not learn as much.
An example of play based learning is: a group of three children are building a train track together – they are talking to each other as they do so (communication skills), working out where all the pieces fit, picking up the pieces and manipulating them into the right spot (problem solving skills, fine motor skills and hand eye co ordination) and all the while working together (team work and social skills). So something that seems so basic to an onlooker as a group of children building a train track, actually involves a variety of learning skills.
